Editorial Policy

Last updated: July 31, 2026

This Editorial Policy explains how Ready to Calculate chooses topics, writes calculator guides, handles corrections, and keeps pages useful for readers.

Our purpose

Ready to Calculate publishes free calculators and explainers for practical decisions: tax estimates, salary planning, wedding budgets, AI costs, education scores, technology comparisons, automotive calculations, and everyday maths.

How topics are chosen

We prioritise topics where a calculator makes the answer clearer than a long article alone. Strong topics usually involve repeated user intent, changing rates, confusing formulas, expensive decisions, or comparisons where a small input change can alter the result.

How calculator pages are written

Each calculator page should explain what the tool estimates, what inputs it needs, what assumptions it uses, and where the result may differ from a real bill, payslip, quote, provider invoice, or official calculation. We prefer clear language, visible source notes, examples, FAQs, and related calculators that help users continue the same task.

Sources

Where a calculator depends on public rates or official rules, we try to use official or primary sources, such as government pages, provider pricing pages, or published documentation. Some calculators simplify real-world rules to stay usable; important simplifications should be explained on the page.

Updates and corrections

If a reader reports an outdated rate, typo, broken calculation, unclear explanation, or missing source note, we review the issue and update the page where appropriate. Material updates should be reflected by the page modified date or a visible update note.

Independence and monetisation

Ready to Calculate may earn revenue from advertising or affiliate links in the future. Monetisation should not determine the calculator result. Ads should be clearly distinguishable from content and should not be placed in a way that encourages accidental clicks or confuses users.
